To maintain the colour, it’s important to use a shampoo and conditioner specifically designed for colour-treated hair. They protect the hair colour from fading too fast. Wella and Pantene provide such shampoos designed specially for coloured hair.
A good shampooing technique goes a long way to maintain your hair’s health, vitality and shine. Always wet your hair first with lukewarm water and apply the shampoo evenly on your hair. Lather the hair by massaging it gently. Rinse your hair in cool water till the water runs clear. After rinsing, gently dry the hair with a towel. Avoid rubbing aggressively because that weakens your hair.
Smart blow-drying ensures that you maximise colour vibrancy and shine, whilst minimising heat damage to your hair. Smart blow-drying involves:
• Keeping the blow dryer at a distance from your hair
• Blowing the hair only after it’s semi-dry
• Reducing the blower’s temperature from time to time, as your hair becomes drier
If your hair is in optimum condition (without damage & smooth) and moisturised, colour before a hair cut so that your cut will highlight the tones & depth of your hair colour.
To maintain a deep hair colour for a long time, it’s important to invest in a good colourant that makes your hair look rich & radiant for days together. You can trust Wella Kolestint to give you that deep, long lasting colour.
Certain care needs to be taken while colouring hair at home.
(i)Apply pre-colouration treatment to the hair.
(ii)Start colouring at the roots. Then apply the colour evenly on the hair and leave it to absorb for upto 40 mins.
(iii)Wash your hair with warm water with a gentle message. Don’t use shampoo.
(iv)Massage the conditioner on your hair and leave it on for 2 mins and then rinse. This will help maintain deep colour for long.
When you want to rinse out the colour, splash it with water; don’t drown it. Wear gloves while massaging your hair or before rinsing out the colour completely. This helps spread the colour so the application is more even. This will help maintain deep colour for long.
The volume of your hair also depends on how you style your hair. Hair that’s all one length can make the colour look flat. To show off just coloured hair, you could try a modern, soft, layered look. Freshly coloured hair moves, looks and makes one feel very womanly. To add to it, a new style gives a terrific confidence boost. Trying a fringe or soft layers around the face can give movement and enhance features. Shorter layers on top create volume.
For covering grey hair, it needs to be touched up every 6 weeks so that the roots don’t show.
For hair to shine and stay healthy after regular usage, it’s important to invest in a premium hair colourant like Wella Kolestint that goes deep into the core giving you a deep long lasting colour.
Colouring eyebrows is not recommended as the skin on the face is more sensitive than your scalp and hair colourant is meant for hair on the scalp.
A straightening iron can be used on colour treated hair, however an everyday use of the straightening iron is not recommended as prolonged direct contact to a heating appliance does damage your hair
To avoid damage from ordinary colourants, it is important to use a premium colourant that cares for your hair & a conditioner that keeps it healthy too.
For a long lasting and deep & rich looking colour, choose a permanent colour like Wella Kolestint.
